Put Rumpus on your Home Screen

Give Family Rumpus its own icon on your phone, tablet or computer, and turn on notifications.

On iPhone or iPad

  1. In Safari, open Rumpus and go to Settings. Tap Show me on Put Family Rumpus on your Home Screen. (Hid it? It’s under This device, Home Screen.)
  2. Tap Create my login code and copy it. Rumpus on your Home Screen can’t open sign-in links from email, so this code is how you sign in there.
  3. On iPhone: tap beside the address bar (on iOS 26 it’s ), then Share. If Safari shows in its toolbar, tap that instead.
  4. On iPad: tap Share at the top of Safari, then View More (on iPadOS 26, ).
  5. Tap Add to Home Screen. Not in the list on iPhone? At the bottom, tap Edit Actions and add it. Turn on Open as Web App, then tap Add.
  6. Open Family Rumpus from your Home Screen, tap Log in, then I have a login code, and paste the code.
  7. Then switch on notifications there: Settings, Notifications, Enable.

On iPhone and iPad, Apple only sends a website’s notifications once it’s on the Home Screen, so this step is what makes them work.

The walkthrough on an iPhone: a login code to copy, then Safari’s Page Menu, Share and Add to Home Screen buttons

On Android or a computer

  1. In Chrome or Edge, open Settings in Rumpus, tap Show me, then Install now.
  2. Or on Android, tap at the top right of Chrome, then Add to Home screen (or Install app), then Install.
  3. On a computer, click at the right end of the address bar, then Install. In Safari on a Mac: File, then Add to Dock.
  4. If it asks you to sign in, use a login code from the same walkthrough.
